Institute of Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture: Non-Invasive Treatment

The Institute of Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture (ICMA) was established in 1972 in London, ON by Prof. Cedric K.T. Cheung. It is London’s oldest acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) clinic and is not affiliated with any other clinic in London.

We are committed to restoring patient health using acupuncture, Chinese herbology, nutritional and lifestyle guidance. By listening to our patients, we will create a personalized treatment plan to restore your health.

Prof. Cheung has over 35 years of clinical experience in TCM and acupuncture and has treated a wide variety of chronic and acute conditions. We provide TCM and acupuncture services to treat or prevent a variety of conditions at ICMA.

Why Choose Chinese Traditional Medicine?

TCM views the body holistically. When one component of the body is affected by disease, the entire body needs to be treated. With a 5,000 year history of success, TCM uses natural herbs and non-invasive methods to effectively treat disease and other maladies with minimal side-effects. At the Institute of Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture, our holistic approach is cure-oriented, focused on bringing the body back into harmony, unlike western medicine, which emphasizes symptom suppression. The World Health Organization recognizes that TCM and acupuncture, in combination with Chinese herbs and nutrition, can effectively treat at least 55 medical disorders. The treatment of acupuncture, herbs and nutrition is meant to restore the health of the patient by balancing Yin and Yang of the body. Treatment is catered to the specific pattern of disharmony and takes into consideration all aspects of the patient’s health.

TCM can be used to prevent illness and disease. It promotes well-being and increases the body’s ability to resist disease.
